President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke clearly to the United Nations General Assembly. He told the world leaders that people everywhere are not able to end wars. He said the only way to stop fighting is for countries to build strong teams and work together. They must have good partnerships and support each other.

Speaking to everyone at the general debate of the UN’s 80th yearly session, he asked member states to work together with Ukraine for security. He also asked them to put more pressure on Russia because the country is still invading his home country.
Zelenskyy said that rules between countries do not work well if strong friends and strong armies do not stand behind them. “The ones with weapons are the ones who decide who lives. This is bad, but you cannot say it is not true,” he said. He said the people in Ukraine want to live in peace, and they want to be free in their own land. That is why putting money into defense is the only way for them to stay alive.
A Failing System
Pointing to the fighting in Sudan, Somalia, and Palestine, the Ukrainian President said these show the world system did not stop violence or help give answers. He said you can see how weak global groups now be, as they only say things and have not done much for many years.
On the war in Ukraine, he warned that chemical weapons are being used. The use of hunger as a weapon has also hurt his people. He said thousands of Ukrainian children have been taken away. Attacks are still going on near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is the biggest one in Europe. A recent strike there cut its power and made things even more risky.

He pointed out that, lately, Russian drones and fighter jets have flown into airspace in Poland and Estonia. He also said Moscow gets involved in things around Moldova. “Europe cannot lose Moldova,” Zelenskyy said. “Helping keep the country steady does not cost too much. But doing nothing will cost much more in the end.”
Artificial Intelligence and Arms Race
President Zelenskyy said that when the world does not act strongly, a new type of arms race gets worse. This is happening faster because of artificial intelligence. He pointed out that the world needs to set rules now for how AI can be used in weapons. He explained that this is just as important as stopping the spread of nuclear weapons.
He said that Ukraine had to make attack drones and sea drones because they needed them. These have helped push the Russian navy back in the Black Sea. They also go after key bombers. He said, “This would not have happened if Russian President Putin did not start a large attack.”
A Coalition Against War
The Ukrainian leader asked UN member states to work together to stop the war in his country. He said that ending the war now and stopping the global arms race would cost less than making bunkers for schools and important buildings.
He said, “It will cost less to stop Russia now. We should act before we need to worry about who will be the first to build a drone that can carry a nuclear bomb.”
Over 30 countries are in Ukraine’s group now, Zelenskyy said. He asked more nations to be part of it too.
