Pakistan, Iran, China, and Russia held a joint meeting on Afghanistan.

In a joint statement, Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan expressed their desire to see Afghanistan achieve its goals of independence, unity, and peace.

Following the fourth four-party meeting of the four nations’ foreign ministers, which was hosted on the fringes of the UN General Assembly at Russia’s invitation, the statement was released.

According to the joint declaration, Afghanistan’s stability and regional growth depend on the country’s society being free from terrorism, conflict, and drug use. Both parties urged Afghan authorities to destroy terrorist organisations’ facilities within their borders.

The need to increase regional cooperation and economic connectivity was emphasised by the attendees, who also voiced concern over Afghanistan’s worsening economic circumstances.
The statement further emphasised that Afghanistan cannot achieve sustainable development until it offers women and girls in the nation access to economic, educational, and employment opportunities.

On multiple occasions, Pakistan, China, Russia, and Iran have pledged to back the Taliban administration within the regional framework, but they have also made it plain that the Taliban must take decisive action against terrorist organisations and form a government that represents all groups.

The majority of nations worldwide have yet to formally accept the Taliban’s government since they seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
